Pick And Place Screw Capping Machine
Automatic rotary pick-and-place screw capping machine with two-cam cap transfer, jaw-type magnetic-action capping heads, synchronized turret and No Bottle–No Cap protection.

Machine Overview
The Pick And Place Screw Capping Machine from Technogen Enterprise is a continuous-motion rotary bottle capping system designed for automatic application of suitable threaded screw closures. Unlike chute-pickup capping systems, this machine uses a two-cam pick-and-place mechanism to control closure pickup and release during the rotary capping cycle.
The machine is available in 4-head, 6-head and 8-head configurations with specified rated outputs of 70–80, up to 120 and up to 150 bottles per minute, respectively, depending on bottle diameter. It is described for compatible glass, PET, HDPE, LDPE and other plastic containers.
The first specialized cam controls screw-cap pickup from the cap pickup arrangement, while the second cam controls cap release onto the bottle. This dedicated pickup and release sequence provides controlled cap presentation before final tightening.
After placement, jaw-type magnetic-action screw capping heads apply the closure with a mechanical torque adjustment facility. The machine can handle compatible screw cap diameters of 22–52 mm and bottles within the specified dimensions, using appropriate change parts.
The machine uses AISI 304 stainless steel for relevant bottle and cap-contact components, combined with stainless steel matt-finished construction. A single main motor synchronizes the bottle conveyor, starwheel system and rotating capping turret.
Cap feeding can be configured using a vibratory feeder, mechanical orientator or cap feeder elevator. Screw-cap handling is selected according to the closure geometry. Compatible child-resistant closure applications may also be assessed, provided that cap engagement and torque requirements are technically confirmed.
Machine protection includes No Bottle–No Cap, cap chute detection, mechanical clutches at the feed worm and starwheels, emergency-stop functionality and outfeed bottle-jam detection.
Technogen Enterprise manufactures, supplies and exports rotary pick-and-place screw capping machines from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India for packaging operations that require automated closure handling and continuous multi-head capping.
Applications
Operating Principle
The machine employs a two-cam pick-and-place closure transfer system, synchronized with continuous rotary bottle transport and jaw-type screw capping heads.
Bottle Infeed
Filled bottles enter the machine through the conveyor and feed worm before transfer by the starwheel to the rotary capping turret.
Cap Feeding
The selected cap feeder orients closures and delivers them to the cap pickup starwheel or corresponding transfer position.
First Cam — Cap Pickup
The dedicated pickup cam controls the capping arrangement as the required screw cap is collected.
Second Cam — Cap ReleaseA separate release cam controls placement of the screw cap onto the correctly positioned bottle.
Bottle Presence and Cap Verification
The No Bottle–No Cap and cap-delivery detection arrangements inhibit inappropriate capping operations.
Torque-Controlled Tightening
The jaw-type magnetic-action capping head grips and tightens the cap according to its mechanical torque adjustment setting.
Discharge and Safety Monitoring
Capped bottles advance to outfeed. Safety clutches, outfeed-jam detection and the emergency-stop system provide protective machine responses.
