Automatic Rotary Vial Washing Machine
Automatic continuous rotary vial washing machine with neck grippers, inverted vial washing, three internal water and three internal air washes, PLC-HMI and process monitoring interlocks.

Machine Overview
The Automatic Rotary Vial Washing Machine from Technogen Enterprise is designed for continuous internal and external washing of pharmaceutical glass vials before downstream processing. It uses a rotary gripper-based transportation system to hold individual vials by their necks, invert them for washing, and return them to an upright position before discharge.
The equipment is available in configurations rated at 120 and 240 vials per minute, depending on vial size. The rotary mechanism carries vials through the specified wash operations while neck-gripping components maintain container positioning throughout the washing sequence.
The machine provides three internal water washing operations and three internal compressed-air operations, together with one external water wash and one external air wash. The described internal wash media include recirculated water, purified water and WFI, followed by filtered or sterile compressed-air stages according to the selected process.
The washing assembly uses servo-driven or mechanical cam-actuated dive-in spray nozzles, according to the machine configuration. Suitable filtration is specified for recycled water, purified water, WFI and compressed air. The washing media circuits use aseptic diaphragm-type valves, while the critical product and media-contact components are described in AISI 316L stainless steel.
The system incorporates an infeed turntable, a main drive with worm gearbox and motor, and a continuously rotating wash mechanism. A recycled-water tank heater with temperature controller supports the stated heated-water process. Pressure transmitters with interlocks monitor air and water services, while a temperature transmitter with interlock monitors recycled-water temperature.
The washing-media pipework is described using stainless steel construction with orbital welding and electropolishing. A vapour extraction system with blower manages condensate and moisture within the washing area, while the required exhaust ducting is allocated to the customer's installation scope.
The washing station and machine outfeed are covered by a polycarbonate enclosure. PLC-HMI control provides the operator interface, and optional equipment includes siliconisation, automatic tank draining, pneumatic vial lifting and enhanced electronic records functionality.
Technogen Enterprise manufactures, supplies and exports automatic rotary vial washers from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India for pharmaceutical manufacturers requiring controlled vial inversion, repeated water/air washing and automation suitable for integrated injectable production lines.
Applications
Operating Principle
The machine operates on a continuous rotary neck-gripping principle, in which each vial is secured, inverted, washed internally and externally, and restored to an upright position before discharge.
Vial Infeed
Empty vials are supplied from the infeed turntable and transferred to the machine's rotary transport mechanism.
Neck Gripping and Inversion
The rotary grippers hold vials by their necks and invert them for controlled access to the vial interior during washing.
Internal Water Washing
The vial interior is processed through the designated recirculated water, purified water and WFI wash operations.
Internal Air Washing
Three compressed-air washing or water-displacement operations are provided within the internal washing sequence.
External Surface Washing
One external water wash and one external air wash are used to process the outer surfaces of the vials.
Washing Media Monitoring
Pressure transmitters monitor the washing-water and air circuits. The recycled-water temperature transmitter monitors the heated washing circuit, with interlock functions provided as specified.
Vial Reorientation and Discharge
Following washing, the mechanism returns each vial to an upright position and releases it to the outfeed starwheel.
Operator Control
The PLC-HMI interface provides machine operation and monitoring. The nozzle movement arrangement is selected according to the servo-driven or mechanical cam configuration.
