Ampoule Visual Inspection Machine
Semi-automatic ampoule visual inspection machine with six spinning assemblies, vortex-based particle presentation, illuminated magnification and separate production and rejection counters.

Machine Overview
The Ampoule Visual Inspection Machine manufactured by Technogen Enterprise is a semi-automatic pharmaceutical inspection system designed to assist trained operators in visually examining sealed liquid-filled ampoules. The equipment supports inspection for visible foreign particles and apparent glass-container defects by combining high-speed ampoule spinning, controlled illumination and magnification.
The machine is intended for the inspection of compatible glass ampoules containing pharmaceutical or injectable formulations. The described inspection targets include glass fragments, dirt particles, black particles, filter-medium residues and visible cracks. As the system uses human visual assessment, detection performance depends on the inspector, viewing conditions, product characteristics and the inspection method.
The equipment incorporates six ampoule spinning assemblies. During inspection, rotation produces motion within the liquid, helping suspend or move visible particles so the operator can distinguish them against the inspection background. The spinning speed is adjustable according to the container and liquid properties.
A magnification arrangement provides an overall viewing magnification of approximately 1.75×, with localized magnification up to 3×. Two 18 W magnifying lamps, each described as providing approximately 1800 lumens, illuminate the inspection area and support simultaneous viewing of six ampoules.
The machine uses tray-based ampoule loading and a synchronized transport arrangement. A reflex photoelectric sensor mounted at an aluminium starwheel supports container separation and positioning. Separate variable frequency drives are specified for the main machine and ampoule spinning mechanism.
The stated inspection capacity is 50–60 ampoules per minute, corresponding to approximately 3000–3600 ampoules per hour under suitable conditions. Actual output depends on inspection duration, product quality, operator judgment and the frequency of repeat inspection.
An operator-actuated ejection switch supports rejection handling. The machine is equipped with two counters, one monitoring total production and the other recording rejected ampoules. A repeat-cycle arrangement allows containers to undergo additional inspection when required.
The machine has a premium stainless steel matt-finished body and uses AISI 304 stainless steel in the specified construction. It accommodates stated ampoule diameters of 10–15 mm and heights of 55–125 mm, with suitable change parts required for different container configurations.
Technogen Enterprise manufactures, supplies and exports pharmaceutical inspection equipment from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, providing operator-assisted visual inspection solutions for manufacturers requiring controlled ampoule presentation, lighting and counting functions.
Applications
Operating Principle
The machine uses controlled ampoule spinning and illuminated magnified viewing to assist a trained operator in detecting visible particulate contamination and container defects.
Ampoule Loading
The operator loads prepared ampoules into the tray-based infeed arrangement.
Ampoule Separation and Positioning
The transport arrangement and reflex photoelectric sensor support separation and positioning of ampoules through the inspection section.
Controlled Spinning
Six high-speed spinning assemblies rotate the ampoules. The spinning speed is adjusted according to the inspected product.
Particle Movement Within Liquid
Rotation creates a vortex or liquid movement that can bring visible foreign particles into motion, helping the inspector distinguish particulate matter.
Illumination and Magnified Viewing
The inspection zone is illuminated by the magnifying lamps. The operator observes the ampoules through the magnification system.
Operator Inspection Decision
The trained inspector examines the visible condition of the liquid and glass ampoule and determines whether the unit passes the inspection criteria.
Rejection and Repeat Inspection
The operator can use the dedicated rejection/ejection arrangement or repeat-cycle facility where an ampoule requires additional examination.
Counting and Discharge
The inbuilt counters track total inspected production and rejected units. Containers are then handled according to the inspection outcome.
