In an L-bar sealing process, a product is presented within heat-sealable film and the sealing bar closes and cuts the film around the pack. The wrapped item then moves through a compatible shrink tunnel when specified, where heat contracts the film to produce the desired finish. Film gauge, pack shape, sealing time and tunnel conditions affect presentation and pack integrity. Semi-automatic operation involves a different level of operator handling from an automatic setup.
