Machine Overview

Technogen Enterprise supplies the Automatic Shrink Wrapping Machine, model TGLS-20, as an automatic L-bar sealing and shrink packaging system for products requiring transparent film overwrapping. The system is relevant to pharmaceutical, food, nutraceutical, cosmetic and chemical packaging applications where products need a neat protective film pack.

The sealing section uses synchronized belt-to-belt product transfer and a motorised film-feed arrangement to move items into the L-bar sealing area. The hot-knife mechanism forms a seal around single products or grouped packs. A film perforator assists evacuation of trapped air, and temperature is managed using PID-based control. The technical specification specifies up to 10–25 packs per minute, depending on product shape and configuration, with a maximum stated sealing size of 500 × 450 mm and product height below 110 mm.

The technical table includes a separate shrink tunnel specification, which must not be confused with the sealer's own power supply, dimensions and compressed-air requirement. A film-wrapped product travels through the heated tunnel for shrinking and then exits for further handling. As an Ahmedabad-based manufacturer, supplier and exporter of Automatic Shrink Wrapping Machines, Technogen Enterprise can assess product dimensions, preferred film and required output to define the correct sealer-and-tunnel package.

Operating Principle

The Automatic Shrink Wrapping Machine (TGLS-20) first forms a loose film envelope around the product using an L-bar sealing mechanism. The sealed pack then passes through the matching heated shrink tunnel, where controlled heat draws the film around the product. These are two distinct process stages with different utility specifications.

Product Infeed

The product or grouped pack moves from the infeed conveyor towards the sealing station. The horizontal and vertical photocells described in the product specification detect the item for synchronized transfer.

Film Feeding and Unwinding

The machine supplies film from a cradle-roller rack using a motorised unwinding system. A perforator wheel makes small openings to allow excess air to leave the film during later shrinking.

L-Bar Sealing Cycle

The item transfers between belts into the L-bar area. A Teflon-coated hot-knife sealing blade closes and cuts the film according to the configured sealing dimensions, while PID temperature control manages the sealing temperature.

Transport to the Shrink Tunnel

The loose sealed pack moves to the separate shrink tunnel. Its conveyor speed is set to provide an appropriate exposure period for the selected shrink film and product.

Heat Shrinking and Discharge

Heat in the tunnel causes compatible film to contract around the product. The pack then exits for cooling and downstream packing or dispatch. Film compatibility and shrink settings must be validated with samples.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of shrink-wrapping system is the TGLS-20?
The TGLS-20 is an automatic L-bar sealing system used with a related shrink tunnel. The L-bar section encloses products in shrink film, and the heated tunnel subsequently shrinks the film around each pack. Sealing and shrinking have distinct operating and utility specifications.
What packaging speed is specified?
The table states 10–25 packs per minute, depending on product shape and configuration. The final pack dimensions and selected film affect actual output.
What is the maximum sealing area?
The technical specification lists a maximum sealing size of 500 × 450 mm and a product height below 110 mm. The format should be checked with actual product and film samples.
Does the system include a shrink tunnel specification?
Yes. The technical table has a separate tunnel section including dimensions, heating supply, conveyor speed and operating height. These must be treated separately from sealer utilities.
Which features help achieve controlled sealing?
The technical specification identifies a Teflon-coated hot knife, motorised film unwinding, PID temperature control, photocell detection and a perforator wheel for releasing trapped air.
