Automatic Rotary Ampoule Washing Machine
Automatic rotary ampoule washing machine with neck-gripper inversion, three internal water washes, three internal air washes, external water and air cleaning, and PLC-HMI operation.

Machine Overview
The Automatic Rotary Ampoule Washing Machine manufactured by Technogen Enterprise is designed to clean the internal and external surfaces of compatible glass ampoules through a continuous rotary washing system. The equipment uses a neck-gripping transportation mechanism that secures individual ampoules, inverts them during processing and returns them to an upright position before discharge.
The machine is available in two configurations with stated nominal production capacities of 120 and 240 ampoules per minute, depending on ampoule size. The continuous rotary movement coordinates container handling with the specified water and compressed-air washing operations.
The washing sequence provides three internal water washing operations, three internal air washing operations, one external water wash and one external air wash. Water media include recycled water, purified water and Water for Injection (WFI). Sterile compressed air is identified for the appropriate air-washing or water-displacement operations.
The machine uses servo-driven or mechanical cam-actuated dive-in washing nozzles, according to the selected configuration. The nozzles direct washing media into the inverted ampoules during the relevant stages. Suitable filtration provisions are described for purified water, WFI, recycled water and compressed air.
Critical components contacting the washing media are manufactured using AISI 316L stainless steel, while the stated piping arrangement includes stainless steel construction with orbital welding and electropolishing. Aseptic diaphragm-type valves are provided for the appropriate water and air circuits.
The recycled-water tank arrangement includes a heater and temperature controller. Water and air pressure transmitters are provided with interlock functions, while a temperature transmitter monitors the recycled-water process. These provisions support controlled process monitoring during the washing operation.
The equipment incorporates an infeed turntable, worm gearbox-driven rotary transport and a PLC with touchscreen HMI for machine operation. A vapour exhaust system with blower helps manage moisture and condensate, while a polycarbonate cover encloses the washing station and outfeed arrangement.
Optional equipment includes 21 CFR Part 11-oriented electronic record functionality, an air-flushing arrangement and automatic tank draining, subject to final machine scope. The actual wash sequence, ampoule dimensions and nozzle operating arrangements should be confirmed during the application review.
Technogen Enterprise manufactures, supplies and exports automatic rotary ampoule washing machines from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, offering multi-stage rotary washing technology for pharmaceutical and injectable packaging operations.
Applications
Operating Principle
The machine works through continuous neck-gripper rotary transportation, with individual ampoules inverted during internal washing and restored upright after the specified water and air cycles.
Ampoule Feeding
Ampoules are introduced through the infeed arrangement and transferred to the rotary transport mechanism.
Neck Gripping
The machine's grippers hold the ampoules securely by their necks for movement through the rotary process.
Ampoule Inversion
The gripper mechanism inverts ampoules to permit internal washing and drainage during the selected wash operations.
Internal Water Washing
Three internal water washing stages use the designated recycled water, purified water and WFI circuits.
Internal Air Washing
Three internal air operations provide the specified compressed-air treatment and assist in displacing residual water.
External Surface Cleaning
One external water washing stage and one external air washing stage process the outer surfaces of the ampoules.
Pressure and Temperature Monitoring
Pressure transmitters with interlocks monitor air and washing-water services. The recycled-water temperature system provides monitoring and interlock functionality for that washing circuit.
Ampoule Reorientation and Discharge
Following the washing cycles, the ampoules return to an upright position and are released onto the outfeed starwheel.
Operator Interface
The PLC with touchscreen HMI provides operating controls and process monitoring for the selected machine configuration.
