Machine Overview

The Waterfall Type Cap Feeder Elevator from Technogen Enterprise is designed for automatic bulk storage and controlled transfer of bottle caps to downstream cap orientators, vibratory cap feeders or compatible capping machine feeding assemblies. It reduces the need for operators to repeatedly refill small cap sorting hoppers during production.

The machine incorporates a low-level bulk storage hopper that allows operators to load larger quantities of loose bottle closures at an accessible height. An inclined plastic modular lifting belt transfers caps from the storage region toward the delivery outlet, where they can be supplied to the associated cap handling system.

The standard machine is described for various compatible closures, including screw caps and ROPP aluminium caps, subject to cap size, profile and handling properties. The technical specification provides a nominal output of 100–125 caps per minute, with storage capacity between 1000 and 2000 caps depending on cap diameter.

A photoelectric cap-level or demand sensor automatically controls elevator operation according to cap requirements at the receiving feeder. When adequate caps are available, the machine can stop supplying additional closures; when the level decreases, the elevator resumes transfer as required.

The machine is manufactured using AISI 304 stainless steel, including the bulk storage hopper. It incorporates a worm gearbox, motor-driven cap lifting assembly, variable frequency drive and a filter regulator. The delivery arrangement can be adjusted for caps up to 110 mm, and the inclination is described as adjustable from 0° to 20°.

The waterfall feeder elevator is a bulk feeding and transfer machine, not necessarily a complete cap orientation and application machine. The downstream cap sorter or orientator remains responsible for presenting closures in the correct orientation according to the selected capping system.

Technogen Enterprise manufactures, supplies and exports automatic cap feeding elevators from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, serving packaging lines that require improved cap storage, fewer manual refill interruptions and demand-controlled cap transfer.

Operating Principle

The machine uses a motor-driven modular lifting belt and demand-controlled photoelectric sensing to transport loose caps from a storage hopper to the receiving cap feeder.

Bulk Cap Loading

The operator deposits compatible loose caps into the low-level stainless steel storage silo.

Cap Lifting

The motor-driven modular belt moves caps from the hopper toward the elevated discharge region.

Transfer to Receiving Feeder

Caps discharge from the lifting system into the associated vibratory feeder or cap orientator arrangement.

Photoelectric Demand Monitoring

The photoelectric sensor monitors the need for additional caps at the receiving system.

Automatic Start and Stop

The elevator starts or stops according to the sensed cap demand to help prevent overfilling of the downstream feeder.

Speed and Delivery Adjustment

The variable frequency drive regulates elevator speed. Delivery adjustment and inclination are set according to closure dimensions and installation geometry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a waterfall cap feeder elevator do?
It stores loose bottle caps in a bulk hopper and automatically transfers them to an associated cap orientator or feeding mechanism.
Does the elevator orient and apply caps to bottles?
No complete cap orientation or capping function is established in the specification. The machine is intended primarily for cap storage and feeding to associated machinery.
How many caps can the hopper hold?
The specified capacity is approximately 1000 to 2000 caps, depending on closure dimensions.
What output is specified?
The technical specification states 100 to 125 caps per minute.
How does automatic cap replenishment work?
A photoelectric demand sensor controls the elevator start and stop functions according to cap availability at the receiving feeder.
What utilities are required?
The specified connection is 230 V, single phase, 50 Hz, with 0.5 HP power consumption and 2 kg/cm² compressed air.
