Machine Overview

The Automatic Multi-head ROPP Capping Machine manufactured by Technogen Enterprise is a continuous rotary capping system designed to apply Roll-On Pilfer-Proof (ROPP) aluminium closures to compatible glass, PET, HDPE, LDPE and other plastic bottles. The equipment is intended for industrial packaging lines that require mechanically formed aluminium cap threads and tamper-evident pilfer-proof bands.

The machine is available in 4-head, 6-head, 8-head and 12-head configurations to suit different production requirements. Its described operating range extends from approximately 60 to 200 bottles per minute, depending on bottle diameter and the selected configuration. The appropriate number of capping heads is determined by container dimensions, closure specifications and required line speed.

The continuous rotary sealing mechanism uses a synchronized transport arrangement incorporating the bottle conveyor, feed worm, starwheels and capping turret. A common main-drive system maintains coordinated bottle movement through the infeed, capping and discharge positions. Compatible change parts enable handling of round and square bottles within the specified dimensional range.

ROPP sealing is performed by a specially designed capping head that applies controlled mechanical pressure to the aluminium closure. The sealing rollers form the cap profile around the bottle finish and create the roll-on thread and pilfer-proof band. Adjustable sealing pressure allows the setup to be matched to the closure and bottle-neck configuration.

The machine incorporates a photoelectric cap-presence sensor at the delivery chute. If caps are not available, the system is designed to stop the machine, helping avoid interruptions and incorrectly capped bottles. The No Bottle–No Cap arrangement inhibits capping in the absence of a bottle at the corresponding station.

The machine frame and relevant traveling components use AISI 304 stainless steel, nylon and aluminium as appropriate to the bottle and closure handling arrangements. Its stainless steel matt finish, modular construction and mechanically accessible assemblies support industrial operation and routine maintenance.

Safety provisions include mechanical clutches at the feed worm and starwheel mechanisms, an emergency-stop button and cap detection. An inbuilt six-digit production counter supports output monitoring. Cap feeding can be configured using vibratory feeding or mechanical orientation arrangements, with alternative feeding systems available for applicable projects.

Technogen Enterprise, based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, is a manufacturer, supplier and exporter of automatic rotary ROPP capping machines for pharmaceutical, beverage and other compatible packaging applications.

Operating Principle

The machine operates through a continuous rotary ROPP sealing process, in which bottles are indexed into a rotating capping turret and aluminium closures are mechanically formed onto the bottle finish.

Bottle Infeed and Separation

Filled bottles enter through the conveyor and feed worm. The infeed starwheel separates and transfers each bottle into the rotating capping turret.

Cap Orientation and DeliveryROPP aluminium caps are supplied through the selected vibratory or mechanical cap feeding system and directed to the sealing positions.

Bottle and Cap Detection

The machine verifies the required cap supply and bottle availability. The No Bottle–No Cap arrangement prevents capping without a container, while the chute sensor stops operation if the required cap supply is absent.

Rotary Capping Turret

The common drive synchronizes the conveyor, starwheels and rotary turret so that the bottle and capping head remain aligned during the sealing sequence.

ROPP Thread and Pilfer Band Formation

The ROPP sealing head applies adjustable mechanical pressure. Its sealing rollers progressively form the closure against the bottle finish, developing the cap thread and pilfer-proof band.

Capping Completion and Discharge

The sealed bottle is transferred to the outfeed starwheel and subsequently discharged onto the conveyor for downstream handling.

Production Monitoring and Protection

The six-digit counter monitors throughput. Mechanical clutches protect the transport mechanisms from specified abnormal conditions, while the emergency stop provides manual machine shutdown.
